I just tested Katfile with a paid account. I used the JDownloader 2 app. My speed hit 30 MB/s! My home network is 500 Mbps up and 1 Gbps down. At first, I used Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1). Later, I changed to NextDNS. I set it to https://dns.nextdns.io/ by hand.
The big tip: Just changing your DNS makes your speed much faster. You do not need a VPN. Chrome has DNS settings built right in. But, changing the settings by hand gives you more choices.
How to change it:
- Update your IPv4 DNS settings.
- First DNS:
1.1.1.1, Second DNS:1.0.0.1 - Or First DNS:
8.8.8.8, Second DNS:8.8.4.4

Real speeds I saw:
Katfile website: Mostly 15 to 30 MB/s. On a good day, it hits 33 to 40 MB/s.
Mipony app (one file): 10 to 15 MB/s. This maxed out my home web speed.
JDownloader 2 app: Most of the time, the speed is about 10 MB/s.
Important rule:
Do NOT use your browser to download! Chrome and other browsers will be too slow. Always use a true download app. Apps like JDownloader 2 or Mipony will give you the best speeds.

What if your download stops after just a few files? This means your daily data limit is gone. If you did not use much data, someone else might have stolen your password. You should change your password right away.
